My name is Mike Barrasso, and my story in the garage door business began when I was just a teenager, working alongside my father installing garage doors and garage door openers.
Back then, I never imagined that the skills my dad was teaching me would become such an important part of my life. What started as a father and son working together grew into a lifelong passion for the garage door industry.
My father taught me more than how to install and repair garage doors. He taught me the importance of hard work, honesty, doing the job right, and treating customers with respect. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my career and remain the foundation of Father and Son Garage Door Service today.
Thanks to the amazing technology of artificial intelligence, I’ve been able to recreate photographs and produce videos showing my father and me working side by side again, just like we did so many years ago.
While these images and videos are AI-generated, the memories, the relationship, and the story behind them are very real.
For me, it’s more than just technology. It’s a way to celebrate my dad, honor the years we spent working together, and share a special part of our family’s history with our customers.
Our team, a blend of seasoned experts and young talents, brings together decades of experience and fresh, innovative approaches.
Our mission is to ensure that with every door we fix or install, we leave behind a trail of happy homes secured by the trust and loyalty of the families we serve.
Today, Father and Son Garage Door Service proudly serves homeowners and businesses throughout Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut.
Whether we’re repairing a broken spring, servicing a garage door opener, or installing a beautiful new garage door, our approach remains the same: provide honest advice, quality workmanship, and dependable service.
After all these years, I still carry the lessons my father taught me to every job.
Father and Son Garage Door Service isn’t just a business name. It’s a tribute to where I started, the man who taught me, and the values I continue to stand behind.
Thank you for supporting our family business.

A garage door may stop halfway because of sensor trouble, opener settings, resistance in the tracks, or worn moving parts. Avoid forcing it open or closed. A professional inspection can identify what is preventing normal movement.
Shaking can happen when hardware becomes loose, rollers wear unevenly, or parts no longer move correctly along the tracks. If the shaking continues or worsens, stop using the door and have the entire system checked.
Stop using the door if it suddenly feels much heavier than normal. The counterbalance system helps carry the door’s weight, so added weight can indicate a problem. Have the system inspected before operating the door again.
Grinding or squeaking can point to worn rollers, loose hardware, or parts that need lubrication. Do not ignore a noise that becomes louder over time. Early inspection may identify worn components before they cause additional operating problems.
